Access 1000 requires entry of user name and password before access to the system is allowed at either an Administrative PC or hand-held unit.

A systems administrator, or "Master User," is assigned and maintains the Master User Name and other user names and passwords. Privileges are assigned for access to various functions, by user name.

The entry screen for the hand-held operator prompts for user name and password before displaying the main menu. No functionality is provided until after user validation.

After a successful hand-held logon, the user name is included in a display at the Administrative PC of active users. Time and date of logon are shown as well as the unit number of the hand-held device.

When the user is finished with the device, the Logoff function is selected, and the screen returns to the Please Logon prompt.
