Hand-held Terminals
symbol hand-held terminals come in a variety of configurations for both RF and batch. Access Data Systems provides support for the two most popular models, the 6800 and 3140 in the 8 lines by 20 character screen size. The devices provide superior integration of all required functions, including 46-key alpha-numeric keyboard, laser scanner (with option for long-range scanning on the 6800), local storage and program execution, LCD screen with back-light, and rechargeable battery.
In a batch configuration, cradles for the hand-helds are required to supply the data path when up-loading and down-loading information between the hand-held unit and the PC. Cradles are available in single and 4-port configurations. Cradles are also purchased for RF configurations, because they provide for recharging the battery and for convenient storage when not in use.
Re-chargeable batteries can be purchased for the hand-helds. A battery can be expected to provide service for an eight-hour shift without requiring re-charging. Spare batteries and a battery recharger are also available.
Hand-held cases and belts are frequently requested to safeguard the device and provide for ease of carrying. We can supply an excellent wrap-around leather case and belt with a secure, swivel-release mechanism for the 3140 hand-held.
RF Support Equipment
Symbol's Spectrum24 RF architecture uses the Spectrum24 Access Point to provide RF network accesss and control. The Access Point provides a 10base-T Ethernet interface, built-in antenna diversity, multiple antenna options and provides support for 127 RF hand-helds. A single Access Point will typically cover about 50,000 square feet. A survey of the site is required to determine the quantity and placement of antennas.
Label Printers
We support Zebra Technologies printers of various speeds and sizes to meet label printing requirements. All label printing is integrated with the Access 1000 WMS, including the Bar Tender label design software.
Report Printers
We support Hewlett Packard LaserJet printers for system reports, including bar-coded reports. For improved performance, we avoid bar code print drivers and create laser printed bar codes using the printer's native language.
